Fieldwork on Leopard Seals

Our lab is connected to a large network of collaborators (#GlobaLeps) that study leopard seals in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions. Here, MaMMEL presents a brief introduction to field work with leopard seals in the Laguna San Rafael National Park, Chile.

Leopard Seals and Environmental Change

This video highlights the NSF awards involving leopard seal studies at Hampton University. We examine the survival challenges facing polar marine mammals and the role of evolutionary genomics in predicting their responses to environmental change.

Genomics Of Seals

In this video, we explain the potential for genomic studies to reveal when and how species diverged. We also highlight that genomics data can be very powerful when combined with ecological data; this combination can reveal key aspects of species’ biology, movement and behavior.
